ideas?

I did my 2nd shoot with the projector at my abandoned house and I am still struggling with editing the images to make them look how i would like them to...I have resorted to using the images that i have taken of the blank spaces and adding in the portion of the projected image to remove the unwanted white box. But I still want to make them look more ghostly than they are turning out. So I need some ideas of what else I can do with them to achieve the look I want.

Here is an example of what the images look like now...

  1. Have you tried reducing the opacity of the layered image? That may be the simplest and quickest fix.

  2. Could you forget about the projector and just create different layers. The layers of the people could have a transparent background and then you could insert it into the room image and lower the opacity.

  3. Yes, at the moment this looks a little awkward and reads as being 'photoshopped' definitely. How did the actual projected shots look? I would be curious to see them with the white box.

Another option would be to do the photoshop work prior to projecting, meaning KO the people/objects out of the white background and try either light warm gray (or cool gray) as a substitute. Or do you even play with the option of creating faux wallpaper/walls behind them as well? Then projecting that?
